How does your media product represent particular social groups? Character 1 -   Protagonist  - Military trained young adult 18 with a disturbed past. How does your media product represent particular social groups? Comparison between the Protagonist of 'The Chase' and a Real Protagonist: My protagonist reminds me of Alex Rider (Alex Pettyfer) from 'Alex Rider: The Stormbreaker'.   Here are some similarities and differences between the two: Similarities: Both roundabout the same age. Athletic Military changed; weapons, hand to hand Great Combat fighter Works for secret service Courageous  Brave Smart Adaptable Has family in secret service Differences: Come from different backgrounds; one grew up knowing that his family was part of the secret service, Alex was propelled into the scenario in under a day. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? Preliminary Task:   Final Product: PRE-PRODUCTION STAGE: •There are a few similarities between  our preliminary task and final product , in terms of the planning process, and differences, such as equipment used and depth of research.  • For our preliminary, we were only allowed 30 minutes of time for pre-production; which included planning the narrative and dialogue. Since the time we had for all 3 production processes was very short, our preliminary was not as high standard as our final product.  • For our thriller opening, pre-production was for about two weeks; where we planned initial ideas as well as final, we researched deeply into the thriller genre and the type of audience we would get and plan scripts and health & safety etc.  • This enabled us to collect the right amount of information needed, like the cha...

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? I have used a number of equipment when filming my preliminary task and I was the cameraman therefore had the most experience with the camera and its equipment. This is the equipment I used: -Tripod -Microphone -Canon DSL 650 D with 18-55mm lens -iMac I learnt that every piece of equipment has a different function and they all help in their own way. A tripod is a portable three-legged frame, used as a platform for supporting the weight and maintaining the stability of some other object. A tripod provides stability against downward forces and horizontal forces and movements about horizontal axes. Microphone The Microphone picked up the conversation between the antagonist and protagonist very well. With its different features to help pick up sound this microphone was very useful. How did you attract/address your audience? The target audience for our thriller opening would be anyone aged 15 and above this allows us to use the most effective way of advertising in our time using the Internet. 94% of teenagers in Britain use a platform of social media therefore w e decided to use platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat to advertise our thriller opening. Who would be the target audience for your media product? Age and gender of audience  - Our aim is to have an audience aged 15-25 either female or male to attract a bigger audience. I would aim for our age certificate to be a 15 according to the BBFC regulations. British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) The BBFC say that  they are a trusted guide to media content. Working as an independent, self-financing and not-for-profit media content regulator, the BBFC operates transparent, consistent and trusted co-regulatory and self-regulatory classification and labelling systems in the UK. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real products? In the image above is my 9 frame of my Preliminary Task. 1 - In the first frame we see our distribution company accompanied by a lion and its roar. Our group was inspired by the Metro Goldwyn Mayer distribution logo. 2 - In the second frame we are presented with our production logo, 'Spartan Production' we used a very original icon to stand out from other production logos. Our aim was to keep it simple. 3 - In the third frame we see a long shot of the protagonist walking along a long road towards the camera. We did this to introduce our main character of the preliminary task. With our third frame the credits can be seen aswell. This idea was inspired by the Walking Dead. 4 - The fourth frame is a low angle panning shot of the protagonist. Here is the Pitch explaining why we changed our idea. This change began after we had filmed and edited our original plan, after this we showed it to some of our target audience and didn't like the feedback we received so we began to think of ways we could change our idea until we were struck by the totally new idea of 'CHASE'. Even though we knew it would be a challenge due to the remaining time we had, we still pursued this idea and our perseverance gave us the following thriller opening which we thought was excellent and way more better than the original, which then received the following feedback which we were very happy with. Similarities between our old and our New idea: Our protagonist is still involved with a government agency. He is still being chased (no pun intended).
