Evaluation Question 5 (Elrad)

How did you attract/address your audience.

Our Target Audience;
Our thriller is a 15 certificate and our expected audience is 15-25 either male or female. Meaning no one younger than 15 are authorised to watch the film in the cinema. No one younger than 15 may rent or buy the film. This allows us to create a thriller with aspects such as swearing and violence. Advantages of having an age 15 certificate is that we can have a larger  and mature audience.

Storyline:
First of all our storyline is based off a man who is running away from something but it eventually catches up with him and he is forced to face it.
In our opening we see the main character visiting a grave (old friend/lover/family???) we then see him noticing he is being followed but then the follower disappears, he begins to run and the follower catches up with him they are then confronted with each other and the main character finds out that the follower is here to help and knows of something hidden in his life.

With this storyline we create chances for our audience to begin questioning the film which add suspense and tension, makes them even more interested. And then in the conversation between our two characters the audience find out that the follower is here in fact to help but they question whether he really is and what has happened with the main characters father? Overall our opening allows the audience to become intrigued and question the film allowing to become more interested and to watch further.

Attracting your audience:
As our target audience is 15+ the best way to attract our audience would be through social media most importantly and we feel that visuals of our film in their day to day life would be most effective. So that would mean getting our distributor to make sure our marketing campaign is mostly aimed at platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Magazines, Adshel's, Posters, etc.

Social Media: Through research we found out 94% of British teenagers use at least one social media sites, so through sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram we can increase our target audience by using this type of technology. Examples of how it would look are shown below;

Visual Advertisement:
The research that we did also showed us that 67% of people prefer clear detailed images and would rather see this than a full description and customer ratings of the film. We also found that 60% of people would actually consider a film depending on how their poster looked and are found in local search results. 94% of total views on average are attracted by content compelling images than content without images.

Here are some examples of Visual advertisement we could have for our marketing campaign:

 Movie posters are advertisements.
The goal of the poster essentially is to "sell" the movie to make you want to see it.
How does it do that?
 The poster may have the movie title in a big and bold font. Images of the movies attractive actors are usually featured. In addition, the actors names are probably included somewhere on the poster to remind you that the movie has big-name stars. Designs, colours, and fonts are used to appropriately reflect the mood and tone of the film. The poster probably includes a catchy sentence or slogan that piques your interest and makes the plot seem intriguing.
