  • The Budget was $75,000,000.
  • On the opening weekend the film made £2,720,016 (UK) (15 august 2004) (418 Screens)
  • The gross of the film was £11,396,052 (UK) by the 26 September 2004.

Shutter Island (2010, Martin Scorsese)
  • The budget of the film is $80,000,000.
  • On the opening weekend the film made £2,250,178 (UK) (14 March 2010) (416 Screens)
  • The gross of the film was £10,599,763 (UK) by the 25 April 2010.

This tells us thriller genres are very popular films to go see when they first come out as the big Hollywood films make huge gross and include huge stars such as Matt Damon. They have huge budgets and make huge profits on the opening weekends.

4&5. Preliminary Task and Eval

Preliminary task evaluation: Pre-production -In the pre-production process as we did not have much time we did not write a storyboard or a script and just came up with an original concept (The Chase), w e also did not have any costumes or props that we could use. We had to make use of our space around school as we were not aloud off site to film and after walking around the whole school we decided the best place to use was the science block. Production During the production stage we used techniques such as match-on-action and shot reverse shot to create verisimilitude. Post production Finally in post production we imported everything on to the MacBooks and used final cut pro to edit our film. We pieced together the scenes as we wanted using continuity editing.
